The PPA wishes to advise you of the following updates to the Dose Administration Aids (DAA) and Indigenous Dose Administration Aids (IDAA) Program Rules following recently announced legislative changes in New South Wales.

The updated program rules provide clarification regarding the responsibilities of pharmacies involved in the provision of DAA services, including where medicines are dispensed by one pharmacy and packed by another pharmacy or third party.

As part of this change there has been an edit to the consent forms to include the pharmacy name. Please ensure that for any new patients utilising either program from today onwards, the updated consent form is used. Existing patients who have signed their consent forms prior to today are not required to re-sign the updated version.

Service Providers should ensure they are familiar with the updated program rules and continue to comply with all applicable state and territory legislation and professional requirements when providing services under the DAA and IDAA Programs.
