As announced on 18 September 2020, a number of the temporary measures introduced to address the COVID-19 pandemic have been extended.
This means that the COVID-19 Home Medicines Service and the ability to conduct medication management reviews by telehealth will continue until 31 March 2021. There have been no changes to the patient eligibility criteria or any other requirements in the relevant program rules.
The Department of Health has advised that these temporary measures will be reviewed again closer to the new expiry and the Government will make a decision around the whether or not there is a need to extend the arrangements further based on the progress of the pandemic.
