From 1 November 2026, Home Medicine Review (HMR) and Residential Medication Management Review (RMMR) follow-up services may be delivered with the patient face-to-face or via telehealth (by video conference or telephone). Service Providers must offer patients a choice of delivery method. Telehealth must not be used as the default delivery method where a patient prefers a face-to-face follow-up service.
The telehealth delivery method applies only to follow-up HMR and RMMR Services. All initial HMR and RMMR services must be delivered face-to-face with the patient and cannot be provided via telehealth.
The updated program rules and HMR patient consent forms are now available on the Pharmacy Programs Administrator (PPA) website, along with updated website content to reflect the changes. Service Providers should transition to using the updated patient consent forms for HMR services for any new referrals they receive from today’s date. As there have been no changes to the RMMR consent forms, Service Providers may continue using the current version.
The PPA Portal has also been updated to support the new service delivery methods. When submitting a claim for an eligible HMR or RMMR follow-up service delivered on or after 1 November 2026, Service Providers must select the service delivery method when claiming a follow-up service in the Portal.
Service Providers are encouraged to review the updated program rules and ensure they are familiar with the requirements for delivering and claiming HMR and RMMR follow-up services.
For further information, please refer to the updated HMR and RMMR Program Rules and the updated website content available on the PPA website.
