The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (the Department) has advised of a fee rate change to the National Immunisation Program Vaccinations in Pharmacy (NIPVIP) Program and a number of changes to the COVID-19 Vaccination in Community Pharmacy (CVCP) Program as follows.

NIPVIP Program fee change

From 1 July 2025, the payments for NIPVIP will increase from $19.60 per vaccine administration to $20.05 per vaccine administration.

CVCP Program changes

From 1 July 2025, to begin aligning the CVCP Program with NIPVIP, the following changes will occur:

  • CVCP fees will be aligned with NIPVIP, with both programs receiving the same fee of $20.05 per vaccine administration. This fee will apply to Service Providers in Modified Monash Model locations 1-7.
  • Pharmacies can continue to administer vaccinations offsite to patients and workers in a residential aged care facility, residential disability facility or a patient’s place of residence if the patient is house-bound and unable to visit a primary care vaccination site however they will no longer receive the Site Visit payment for CVCP vaccinations administered off-site. They will still be able to claim the $20.05 for administration of these off-site vaccination by submitting a CVCP service claim in the PPA Portal.
  • Service Providers are no longer required to notify the PPA of their intention to deliver vaccinations off-site from the pharmacy premise.
  • The radius restrictions no longer apply, and pharmacies are not required to consider the distance of the off-site location from their pharmacy premise.

With the cessation of the Site Visit payments for the CVCP Program on 1 July 2025, the final day to administer an off-site vaccination and be eligible for the Site Visit Payment is 30 June 2025.

Service Providers must ensure all Site Visit claims for services provided up until 30 June 2025 are submitted by 31 July 2025. After this date no further claims will be accepted.
