The Department of Health and Aged Care (department) has advised that, due to the discovery of a discrepancy in the payment fee provided to the Pharmacy Programs Administrator (PPA), services administered on or after 1 July 2024 under the National Immunisation Program Vaccinations in Pharmacy (NIPVIP) Program have been underpaid.
NIPVIP services administered from 1 July 2024 were paid at $19.32 for each eligible service. The department has now advised that the correct fee is $19.60.
From today, claims for NIPVIP services will be paid at the correct rate of $19.60.
The PPA will also adjust NIPVIP claims submitted for vaccinations administered on or after 1 July 2024 that were paid $19.32. This will involve an additional payment of $0.28 for each impacted claim. Adjustments will be applied progressively in the PPA Portal over the coming weeks – no action is required by your pharmacy. Once the adjustments have been completed, your pharmacy will receive a remittance advice outlining the additional payments applied to these claims.
