From 1 January 2021, RPMA eligibility and payment values will no longer be based upon the Pharmacy Accessibility/Remoteness Index of Australia (PhARIA) categories and will instead be based upon the Modified Monash Model (MMM) rural classification system.
The Department of Health have advised that the weekly base cap has doubled from 30 to 60 DAA services per week. These changes are effective from 4 January 2021.
All section 90 community pharmacies are invited to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to participate in the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine to priority populations from Phase 2A onwards of the national rollout strategy. The EOI process will be managed by the Pharmacy Programs Administrator (PPA) on behalf of the Department of Health.
